The Friends of the Verona Public Library will be organizing their annual December Book Sale from December 2-5 at the library.
This is the biggest Friends of the Year book sale, with 10,000 fiction and non-fiction titles for adults and children, donated last year by the community of Verona. To make it easier to find and buy books, fiction is sorted alphabetically by author and non-fiction is sorted by subject. Most books are priced at $ 1 or $ 2. Limited DVDs, CDs and audiobooks will be available. Proceeds from the sale will be used to fund the library’s programs for children, adolescents and adults.
The best selection of books is available when the sale opens to members of the Friends of Verona Public Library on a special preview evening on Thursday, December 2, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Memberships with Friends start at just $ 15. To become a member before the Preview Night, go to https://www.veronalibrary.org/friends-of-the-library/. Membership forms will be available at the door and new members are invited to register on December 2nd.
The sale will open to the general public on Friday December 3 from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The sale will continue on Saturday 4 December from 10 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and coincides with the annual Verona Fair in the Square. On Sunday, December 5, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the Friends will have a sale of $ 5 per bag. The bags will be provided by the Friends. Teachers with a valid teacher card can take advantage of additional great deals by purchasing books for just $ 2 per bag.
Cash and checks are accepted. Face masks are mandatory in the library building. Due to the city event, library parking will be limited on Saturdays, but street parking will be available.
