Craft Activities Planned at Great Bend Library

Greetings from Great Bend Public Library! We have Early Literacy Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and our Family Storytime on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. next week as usual. Both are a great time to introduce little learners to literacy through picture books, finger play, music, art, movement and more!

Then on Friday, March 11, we’ll have Art Exploration Studio at 10:30 a.m. Bring some clothes you’re willing to get dirty in, as we’ll be making art with different types of mediums. Children will be able to participate in different stations to make unique creations! This event is open to children from kindergarten to grade 5.

For those who signed up for March’s TeenBookCrate, you can start picking them up on Monday. You will have one week to collect your box before we open what is left to anyone who hasn’t had the chance to register but would like one. On Monday, March 14, we will be offering boxes to teens who missed the registration period, first come, first served. Don’t forget to bring your library card so we can check the box for you.

This coming Thursday we have our Teen Manga and Anime Club. This month, we’ll be watching and discussing My Hero Academia. After the discussion, we are hosting a My Hero: One’s Justice tournament. Choose from your favorite characters from the series and compete against each other! The top two players will receive official My Hero Academia prizes. Teens can come to the library now to start training for the tournament. Simply sign up for a timeslot on the Xbox One during open game hours in the Teen Spot.

Next week for adults, we have our regular Tech Tuesday at 11 a.m. and Crochet Club Thursdays at 4 p.m. Also on Thursdays at 7 p.m. is this month’s adult crafts, where you can create a felt succulent garden. Enjoy your own colorful plants without the hassle of the real ones. Those of us who don’t have green thumbs can always put some beautiful plants on display just in time for spring.
