As reported by The Beat, Yang revealed the news during a WonderCon ’22 panel and said the game will soon become a graphic novel series published by First Second. “We are fans of Supercell,” Yang said of the company behind clash of clansbefore launching into a story about how his children and the children of Mark Seigel, editor of First Second, loved playing the game against each other ten years ago.
“…Mark and his family live on the east coast,” Yang said. “My family and I live on the West Coast, but our kids were the same age. So it was a way for our families to connect. But since then, Mark and I have wanted to make a Shock delivered. But he was calling Supercell to try and get a meeting, and at some point he realized why they weren’t coming back is because the amount of money they would make with a graphic novel is the money they’d be making. they win in four hours. It just wasn’t worth it to them financially. »
Despite this setback, Yang said Seigel never gave up and eventually managed to convince Supercell to give them the license after ten years. The result clash of clans The graphic novel series will consist of eight books, each focusing on a different character from the hit mobile game. “With video games, at least like the mobile platform that Shock is on, the characters have to be two-dimensional,” Yang said. “…one of the challenges we talked about for months was how it clashes with the look. All troops of the same class look alike. All archers are the same. All barbarians are the same, all the same. So how do you tell a story where you care about the characters in a world like that? So we found a solution. I hope people like it.”
Apart clash of clansYang’s other recent projects include a Disney+ adaptation of chinese born americanMarvel’s latest Shang-Chi series — Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings — and DC’s version of legendary Chinese hero Sun Wukong in present-day monkey prince series.
